For the entry project I decided to use plastic as my chosen material. Since Covid started and lockdown was introduced, me and my family started using click and collect orders in supermarkets to minimise our risk towards the virus. Along with these click and collect schemes our orders are packaged in plastic bags, which are usually thrown away. However, instead of wasting these bags I constructed a tapestry. I learned how to crochet and reworked the plastic bags into plarn (plastic yarn). Once I had completed the crochet I then added some typography to the piece that was relevant to re-cycling in art and design. The word 'Reclaim' seemed suitable and relevant, we as the human race need to 'reclaim' our plant through re-cycling and sustainability in our every-day lives.
